haha, i figured you were going to do that. it'll be fun. but unfortunately must wait. she's been throwing up since 6 this morning. the TBS concert is tomorrow too. i hope she's better. |

It'll be just as fun later. She doesn't eat right... it's no wonder she's gotten sick. Give her a hug for me. Make her drink lots of water so she doesn't get dehydrated (that's part of what was wrong with her when she was in the ER here). Is she taking her iron? A multivitamin would be good for her, too. But I'm sure you know all this already. I'm just worried about her... |

i will confess that i havent actually herd Mest but i have yet to hear a gud thing about them and im partial to a little GC every now and then, even if they do come across as real pricks in interviews....so yeah im going for GC > Mest.....still neither match up to TBS or Straylight Run!!

Here's one reason that Mest > Good Charlotte. Good Charlotte's new album... The Chronicles of Life and Death, or what the fuck ever it's called... came out I think.. Tuesday. I was in Hot Topic today and picked up the cd to read the track listing on the back. I remember Buffy told me that they were going to be releasing two versions. Sure enough, there's a Life and a Death version. Each cd has different cover art and a different bonus track. How. Fucking. Lame. I'm serious. I swear this is a ploy to just move more cds. Yeah, yeah, don't give me that load that GC has been poor all their lives. Yes, that's true. But their first two cds made so much freaking bank it's not even funny. They've all got more money than they could spend in 3 lifetimes. Why pull a stunt like this with the new record? Easy. They knew people'd buy it. More cds sell = more money.  Anyway, I exclaimed to Allie, who was like 8 feet away, "Good Charlotte is fucking lame! Look at this! *holds up both cds*." Then the salesgirl that was helping Allie get her HP track jacket down said, "Yeah, Good Charlotte is really fucking lame. I just heard about the Life/Death version crap they're pulling today. Be sure to tell everyone you see not to buy their new cd." And she was dead serious. Oh, another little nice thing... There's a big freaking warning on the bottom of the cd on the back that says it's COPY PROHIBITED. Ole GC's not fond of the sharing of the music via the interweb, I suppose. Mest has yet to do anything like this. They've got what... 3 or 4 albums out? Mest probably wouldn't do this because they're grateful that anyone buys their damn cds as it is. Oh wait. Um Mest is AWESOME! |

i have nothing really to say against that... it is lame.
but its better than Korn with their 4 different art work and no differences in the cd. at least with gc you get something different with each cover. *shrug*
oh, and mest can't afford to that. they still live with their mommies.
the only reason they are probably barely out of debt is because they made bank when they toured with gc. it's good to have friends rolling in it.
i still think gc is better than mest. i base this on music and lyrics only, however. live, mest is better than gc... well, at least from what i've seen. i hate arenas, and gc doesn't do that great in them.

Korn's been lame since after Follow the Leader came out. Though, they are awesome live. Honestly, I really can't say much of anything to argue the fact that Mest is better. Mest has Matt and Jere... GC has Benji. Benji is the best part of GC, I think. I say that because I tend to enjoy the stuff he writes more than any of the others. GC doesn't need to make any more money. There's nothing wrong with wanting to get paid for doing the work they do... music is their job... but this whole deal with two versions of the album... that's nothing but a plea to make money. There was no reason to do that. One version of the cd would have sold, there's no doubt about it.... Mest has pretty crap lyrics... in about 75% of the songs they have. The songs Jeremiah writes are pretty good, you have to admit that. Mest is a small venue band. It's easier to rock a small venue... GC can't do small venues anymore... they're too big for that now. Mreh... why can't everyone be like LP? They can rock any venue, any time. |

mest doesn't always have the most heartfelt lyrics... but i would only say that 40-50% of the songs are bad. jeremiah's lyrics are good, really emo bitch, but good. tony has some good ones too. i like a lot the songs on the ST cd.
i know gc is too big for small venues now... but they could at least do medium venues. theaters and such...

If it's one chance in a lifetime, that means it IS the last time! It doesn't make sense! Call it artistic license or whatever you want.... but it'd still be nice if the lyrics made sense. GC'll never play a place smaller than an arena again. Ticket prices are higher... arena = more tickets to be sold. I hate to say it, but I'm thinking GC's sold out. And if not yet, they're getting really close to that line. Even so, I do still enjoy some of their music. I'm not that elitist. |

Yes, Mest is definitely better than Good Charlotte. I like Good Charlotte a lot, but I definitely dig Mest a lot more. I'm pumped to see them on October 24th as well as the 27th [and who knows what dates after that]. |
