you know, it's one thing to not like a band because it isn't your thing, but you should be able to back up calling a band 'total garbage'

both of those bands are disposable pop-punk. bands with this kind of sound are a dime a dozen.

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that they're a horrible band or anything. they've got catchy tunes that kids these days can relate to. it's just that pop-punk seems to be what most new bands are aspiring to be. and that's sad. let's get some new experimental shit out there. when i want something new, i want something totally new.

I had two phases with GC, one for each album. I believe it was junior year of high school, back when "Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous" was new, that I went to Warped Tour and they had a signing. Really, really nice guys. Whether you think they're too poppy (granted, I agree that they kind of are) they definitely have better music suited for my ears than Simple Plan does.
Don't really know why, or care why, but I've never been able to sit through more than half of a Simple Plan song without wishing it was over.

I used to like them. But now I can't stand them and they make me want to stab my eyes out and they make my ears bleed, but I gotta say, they pretty much introduced me to music with guitars and stuff...I think (but no offence to anyone) that they are a band for the kids. The really young kids to find something to "start off with". when i got into GC, I was 12 with no problems and I pretty much just liked them because of the tunes and wasn't really serious. Then I discovered things that I related to more and were singing the exact words that were in my head....gosh, I'm probably making no sense, so I'll just stop. lol.

I got into GC in college when I had a LOT of life problems and troubles dealing with stuff and they sang exactly what i needed to hear. Motivation Proclamtion could make me smile in seconds. It is still my fall back song at times when I need a good pick-me-up. I'm 24 and I still feel like I can relate to what they are singing about. |

i would just like to amend what I said earlier... I love and will always love their OLD music. Not this new shit. The song on myspace pisses me off and I hope to all the heavens and gods and goddesses that it is a joke. It's horrible.
