Maybe they just don't care for the band?
Or maybe they're bitter because John and Shaun's departure almost ruined the band?
You have to admit the reasons why John and Shaun left the band were pretty shitty and kind of silly. It reminds me of Sarah Michelle Gellar announcing that she wasn't going to do another season of Buffy in an interview with Entertainment Weekly before telling her co-cast members/friends.
In other words, I don't blame them one bit for not mentioning Straylight Run's cd.

Sarah Michelle Gellar doing that is completely different than what John and Shaun did. It's not like they went to AP and said that TBS was breaking up because they were leaving before they told anyone else in the band.
Their reasons for leaving are understandable. Musically they both wanted to go in different directions and they weren't happy with the way things were going in TBS.
Not mentioing the CD is a little cold. John and Shaun always wish TBS the best and support their new music. The taking back sunday website is even a link on the straylight run page.
besides the fact that we haven't seen TBS say, 'ooo look, check out these new cds' before that.

Maybe they left because they wanted to do something different. Maybe they left because of Adam and Michelle. Maybe they left just because they felt the need. Regardless of why they left, their leaving almost killed Taking Back Sunday. Finding Fred and Matt was a big stroke of luck for the rest of the band. Adam, Mark, and Ed... I can totally see why they wouldn't mention SR's cd release. John and Shaun's departure could have killed their dream. It may have been a cold thing to do... maybe a bit immature, even, but it is justified in some ways.
