so by now everyone has heard that Taking Back Sunday is no longer on Victory Records, but instead is now signed to Warner. I can see how this would affect their music, and people are already calling the 'sellouts', which is rediculous. It doesn't seem to have affected MCR, so maybe their music won't completely plummet with all the label interference and such. any thoughts?

Being signed to a big label doesn't mean they're sellouts. It means they're successful. Anyone who bashes/stops enjoying a band that's become successful is a fucking moron. Doesn't matter what label you're signed to... they'll try to get their two cents in. Bands just have to be able to know when to say "nope, this is how we want it, this is how it's going to be." If that's how LP does it with Warner... I'm sure other bands can do it, too.
I mean... if the band's not making music and selling records, the label'll lose out too.
I, for one, am happy for them. It's almost like WB considers them to be as good as Linkin Park. I think that's saying something right there.
note: LP is my all-time favorite band. I just paid TBS a big freakin compliment.

i feel the same way. i'm happy for them, now they can make some real money. and they'll get to use the best equipment and experiment with different things that a Victory budget wouldn't allow. not too mention they will be working with the best producers around. so good for them

I hope signing to a new label would help them more known in Asia since I can't find their CDs here in Indonesia and have to go to the States to buy them.

thats a good way to think about it. they will have so many more fans once they go international with it. Warner has waaaayyy mor distribution locations than Victory

Ok i'm going to have to set you straight here, in fact as ironic as this sounds, bands on indi labels tend to make more but get less exposure. www.downhillbattle.orgBands make a little less then a dollar every cd after paying off there very large advance so sure they'll get more posibilities but major label status isn't all that breat seems they had it pretty damn good on victory they had a indi label with the ability to get music on main stream radio, pretty damn impressive not too mention they will be working with the best producers around. so good for them
